A staple of the annual Frieze calendar, this year’s celebration of DRAF’s 10th Anniversary is sure to be one of the week’s highlights. The list of performances scheduled for the evening is impressive - featured artists include Marvin Gaye Chetwynd with MEGA HAMMER, Last Yearz Interesting Negro aka Jamila Johnson-Small, Lina Lapelyte, Kris Lemsalu, DJ Nkisi, Laure Prouvost + Trim, Hannah Quinlan and Rosie Hastings. Veteran attendees will also be happy to know that this year’s party is making the move to a larger venue, KOKO.

Nocturnal City: London-Barcelona feat. Ikonika and SIREN DJs

Nocturnal Cities is a series of events commissioned by Somerset House Studios and curated by Studios resident Estela Oliva that explores global nightlife and its influence. This particular evening delves into the connections between London and Barcelona. The evening aims to explore how the relationships between spaces and platforms that are geographically distinct are affected by innovation and technological advances. The line up includes DJs, artists and producers from both cities including DIY Space for London, academic Madison Moore, Georgia Taglietti (Sonar & Sonar+D and She Said So) and Joe Alexander (Boiler Room) and Aleix Fernandez of Onionlab. Ikonika will present a special AV set in collaboration with visual artist Mungo plus there will be performances by SIREN DJs. Tickets required.

Deep Trash in the Underworld

Deep Trash returns to present a night of live art inspired by the occult, including live performances, installations, artworks, visuals and videos by over 40 artists. Attendees are encouraged to dress for the theme and the DJs appropriately promise to play New Romantic, traditional Goth, Industrial, Dark Pop and dark techno tracks. This evening is supported by Arts Council England and has been organised in conjunction with the conference ‘Performing the Occult: Magick, Rituals and the Monstrous in Live Art’ at Queen Mary University, London. Auntie Flo DJ Set

Royal Academy

As part of their series ‘The Academicians’ Room DJ Sessions’ the Royal Academy will host a set by local DJ Brian d’Souza, aka Auntie Flo.  Auntie Flo combines electronic music with cunning world influences and he has featured in Boiler Room broadcasts, mixes on BBC 6 and in two live sessions on BBC Radio 1. This event will also afford you a chance to nose around the Academicians’ Room, the Royal Academy’s private members’ club. Tickets are free but must be booked.

Frieze Fiesta

Chalton Gallery, is throwing a party for the launch of Mexican artist Marek Wolfryd’s solo show From Rags to Riches; Art everywhere for everyone. Tequila cocktails and Mexican snacks should get things started nicely at the opening which will be followed by an after party at the Cock Tavern. As you’d expect second half of the evening promises tunes – the artist will play his selection of Latin music tracks which will be followed by a surprise DJ.
