Berkeley Square

Mon 2 – Sun 8 October 2017

PAD’s offerings encompass 20th Century art and design as well as decorative arts. The careful selection of galleries exhibiting are international and the quality of the objects on offer is sure to be exquisite. In fact, this fair is an excellent illustrator of how thin (and often problematic) the line is between categories we create to distinguish between creative practices.

The Other Art Fair

Presented by Saatchi Art, the Other Art Fair eschews galleries, allowing visitors to buy directly from the artists themselves. This year 130 international artists working in a wide array of styles have been selected to show at the fair’s Shoreditch venue. The fair organisers state that they strive to bring together the ‘unexpected’ and will also be running a full programme alongside the fair, including talks, projects and workshops for kids.

Battersea Affordable Art Fair

Battersea Park

Thurs 19 – Sun 22 October 2017

Like Frieze, this is an art fair brand with a global scope. Unlike Frieze, you won’t have to re-mortgage if you find something you like. All works exhibited are original pieces by living artists and while in the past we have found that there’s a real range in the quality on offer, there are some treasures to be found. This fair has the added benefit of taking place a couple weeks after the rest of our suggestions, allowing for plenty of recovery time before you head into a marquee again.
